EF Explore America videos

As part of the team that tagged along with one of our tour groups to Washington, D.C., I was involved in all that comes with working on a video shoot—everything from ideation and pre-production planning to before and on-the-ground interviewing, execution, and post-shoot deliverable creation.

Since our D.C. itineraries are by far our most popular EF Explore America class trip, we wanted to make some video content that showcased them. So, I worked with a designer and video shooter to profile one of our Tour Directors. I conducted all of the interviews, transformed the almost hour-long conversation into a 2:30 script, titled the video, and came up with the identity framework you see at the end that we now use for all of these videos.

EF Explore America wanted to feature their partnership with Mount Vernon. We decided to do that by highlighting the “Telling their Stories” tour at Mount Vernon, an experience that delves into the history of the enslaved people who lived and worked at George Washington’s home. We made this video from the perspective of our group’s teacher to show this special tour’s impact firsthand. To shape this video, I did everything from helping art direct on the shoot to interviewing the teacher to putting together the script.
